A devoted father, loving partner, respected National Grid manager, and cherished friend, Mark’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, coworkers, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Born on September 25, 1967, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mark was the beloved son of Richard and Mary (Taraskieviwcz) Correia of Shrewsbury. Throughout his life, he was known for his warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine interest in others. He found joy in meeting new people, listening to their stories, and building meaningful relationships that lasted a lifetime.
Above all else, Mark treasured his family. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Erin Grace Correia, whom he loved unconditionally. Following the passing of Erin’s mother, Cynthia (Danahey) Correia, in 2018, Mark and Erin shared an especially close bond, supporting one another through life’s greatest challenges with unwavering love, strength, and devotion.
In later years, Mark found happiness with his beloved partner, Nicole Hamel. Together they enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, and creating treasured memories filled with laughter, companionship, and love. Their relationship brought renewed joy and fulfillment to Mark’s life.
Professionally, Mark dedicated 32 years to National Grid, where he earned the admiration and respect of colleagues through his integrity, leadership, and commitment to excellence. During his distinguished career, he served in quality assurance, quality control, employee and labor relations, and ultimately as Manager of Gas and Electric Customer Metering Services. He was widely respected as a mentor, trusted leader, and dedicated professional who took great pride in supporting both his coworkers and the communities he served.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Erin Grace Correia; his beloved partner, Nicole Hamel; his parents, Richard and Mary Correia; his siblings, Brian Correia, Lynn Lagace, and Wayne Correia; along with nieces, extended family members, lifelong friends, and many colleagues whose lives were enriched by his kindness and friendship.
As family and friends gather to celebrate his life, they remember a man whose compassion, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved created a legacy that will endure for generations.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life honoring Mark C. Correia will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Mark’s honor to Best Friends Animal Society, reflecting his lifelong compassion for animals.
