Authorities responded to a mental health emergency on Tuesday, August 4, after receiving reports of a person in crisis on the Southlake Boulevard bridge, prompting a large emergency response and temporary traffic closures along State Highway 114.
According to the Southlake Police Department, officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and other first responders were dispatched to the bridge after reports of an individual in need of immediate assistance. Emergency crews worked to secure the area, protect the individual, and ensure the safety of motorists traveling through the corridor.
Officials stated that the individual was safely reached by first responders and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not released the person’s identity or additional information regarding their condition.
